GIRLS GOLF MEETING SCHEDULED
Attention any girl interested in playing golf this Spring: There is an informational meeting scheduled on February 16th at 3:30 at the Pelican Lakes Pro Shop.
RANGELAND ECOLOGY PROGRAM AT CSU

The Rangeland Ecology program at Colorado State University prepares students to understand and manage the grasslands, shrub lands, and savannahs that make up 50% of the earth’s land surface.  For students interested in natural resource science or hands-on management, Rangeland Ecology is an ideal major.  If you would like more information on this major at CSU, please see the counseling office for more information.


PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY PROGRAM

Pepperdine University offers high school students completing their junior year the exciting opportunity of experiencing college in the summer.  Students will enroll in 6-7 hours of undergraduate course work, receive college credit, and live in undergraduate residences on the Pepperdine campus in Malibu, California.  The online summer college is June 21-July 2 and the on campus summer college is July 5-July 31.  If you are interested in attending this program, please stop by the counseling office for more information.


CSU PRESIDENT"S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The President’s Leadership Program (PLP) at Colorado State University-Pueblo is seeking members of your school’s senior class to apply for a prestigious four-year academic leadership program.  If you are interested in receiving a minor in Leadership Studies while working with other high achieving students, please stop by the counseling office for more information about this program.  The deadline to apply is March 1, 2010.


VALENTINE'S DAY IDEA

Still haven’t made plans for Valentine’s Day? How about dinner for two at P.F.Chang’s in Loveland and a movie at Metrolux 14?  Donate a minimum of $2 for students and $4 for adults and win a chance for a $50 gift certificate to P.F. Chang’s China Bistro and two tickets to a movie. Tickets go on sale today after ELO in the Commons, and will continue through Friday at 3 p.m. Tickets will also be on sale at the Girl’s Conference Basketball game tonight at home. Winners will be announced at the end of school Friday. Your donation will help support the Windsor Chronicle.  Don’t miss your chance at a fantastic Valentine’s Day date! 

BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
WHS will host the 1st round of Boys and Girls basketball league tournament on Thursday, February 11th.  Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.  No student or family passes will be accepted. 
SATURDAY PHYSICS SERIES

The University of Colorado at Boulder hosts a Saturday Physics Series beginning this Saturday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m.  The subject is “Neutrinos: Ghosts of the Subatomic Universe.”  Please stop by the counseling office if you would like more information about attending this event. 



SCHOLAR ATHLETE MILK MUSTACHE SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarships of $7,500 await 25 outstanding scholar athletes in grade 12 nationwide.  If you are a star both in the classroom and on the field, the Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Award Program may be for you.  To find out more go to bodybymilk.com.  Deadline is March 5, 2010.


GIRLS SOCCER MEETING
There will be a mandatory meeting for all girls interested in playing soccer this spring season Wednesday, Feb. 10th after school from 3:15-3:45 in Mod A.  
CONGRATS KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAM
Congratulations to the Knowledge Bowl team for finishing 2nd out 27 at Niwot on Saturday. 
PROM COMMITTEE MEETING
There will be a Prom Committee meeting tomorrow, February 9th after ELO in Ms. Pennington’s room #204.  All members of the Junior Class who are interested in being a part of this year’s prom are welcome. 
FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE REP
SENIORS:  If you are planning to attend Front Range Community College in the fall, a representative will be here on Wednesday, March 3rd to complete required testing.  Please sign up in the Counseling Office to complete this part of the required application process.
JOHNSON & WALES REP.
A representative from Johnson & Wales will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, February 11th to speak with students.  Please sign up in the Counseling Office if you would like to meet with this individual.
QUARTERBACK CLUB MEETING

The Quarterback Club will meet to elect new officers on Thursday, February 11th at 6:30 in the High School cafeteria.  Call Kathy at 581-3844 if you have questions in regards to the club. 

ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB MEETING
There will be an Ultimate Frisbee Club meeting Thursday, February 11th in Ms. Doman’s room #129 after ELO.  If you have any questions, contact Carson Stickler or Max Valentine
1st SEMESTER ARTWORK
Attention Ms Miz’s students!  All first semester artwork must be picked up by Friday the 12th or it will be thrown out!  Don’t lose your precious creations!   Especially if you were in Art first semester but are not this semester, you must come pick up your old work.
GIRLS AND BOYS STATE PROGRAM
Colorado Columbine Girls State and Colorado Boys State will be held this summer at Western State University and Colorado State University-Pueblo.  If you are currently a junior and you are interested in government, leadership, and the chance to earn college credits, this program may be for you.  Stop by the counseling office for more details.  The deadline to apply for both programs is April 30, 2010.
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL MC2 PROGRAM

Hey Sophomores!  Are you interested in pursuing a career in healthcare of medicine?  If so, check out the MC2 program at the Children’s Hospital.  Students will experience real life, hands-on experiences at one of the nation’s top pediatric institutions through their junior and senior years.  If you are interested in this program, please see the counseling office for more details.  The deadline to apply is March 15, 2010.

Congratulations to Kelsey Doddridge for being selected as the 2010-2011 Northern District FCCLA Occupational Representative! She will represent WHS well. 
SPRING SPORTS SIGNUP
Are you planning to play a spring sport?  Be sure to pay your fee and turn in your paperwork BEFORE February 22.  If you played a fall or winter sport you may just have your fee to pay.   Not sure what papers you may need?  Check with Ms. Buckley in the main office.
TRACK AND FIELD MEETING
There will be a Track and Field informational meeting next Tuesday, February 9th after school at 3:30 in Mr. Wilbur’s room #124.  Anyone interested in track and field, please attend.
BLACK AND WHITE BALL
The Black and White Ball is February 20th at the Windsor Rec Center from 8:30-11:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 prepaid and $15 at the door. Semi-formal dress is requested.  If you’re planning to bring someone who is not a Windsor student, please sign them up in the main office.
